This last weekend our daycare provider-turned-into-family-friend and her husband came out to watch the girls play soccer. It was a complete surprise and I felt so blessed to have them there. Her husband is actually the High school girl’s soccer coach and I know miss Anika realizes just how lucky of a girl she is to have him for a mentor and friend.
And then there’s Emma whose soccer career may be short lived, but at least she’s having fun. Her shyness has turned into this awkward show during the games, where you can always find her goofing off- with her shirt backwards, laying on the field, stuffing the ball under her shirt, looking for ladybugs – all sorts of things that aren’t soccer related. Our friend/babysitter also does photography for fun and she captured some great moments of Emma at her finest.
We don’t have a lot of family around us which is something that makes me sad. Neither Wayne or I have a large family, and the family that we do have aren’t close to us, so having them come out to cheer the kids on meant a lot.
All photos are from Melissa Myer – thanks for making me smile this evening!
